Love Island's Dr Alex heads back to work in A&E after break for charity work

Love Island star Dr Alex George has returned to the A&E ward at Lewisham University Hospital after having a break to focus on charity work.

The 31-year-old NHS hero took some time off from working on the frontline as he put his all into several mental health campaigns.

The TV star shared that as much as he loves his role and mental health work, he has missed being in the hospital.

"SO GOOD to put back on a stethoscope and be back on the frontline," he posted on Instagram.

Dr Alex posed in his uniform, looking gleeful as he held up a water bottle.

His caption continued: "Over the last few months I have been working on several mental health campaigns, including the wellbeing videos that have been sent to schools across the UK this week (please do check the out if you are a student, teacher or parent).

"Big thanks to @skykidsofficial and @educationgovuk for helping us create these videos. As passionate as I am about my role and MH work I have missed being in A&E SO MUCH!!

"Don't forget to keep hydrated people it's HOT."

Alex's post was filled with lots of sweet comments from his fans, who praised him for his incredible work.

One person wrote: "Such an amazing man [heart emoji]."

A second penned: "Your one caring guy, and doctor. Stay Safe."

"Nice scrubs doc. Welcome back!" a third shared.

Today, Dr Alex revealed he will be switching off as it's one year since his beloved little brother tragically died after battling with his mental health.

He shared a heartfelt tribute to Llŷr on Instagram, writing: "I can’t believe it’s been a year. Some days I really can’t accept or understand that you are not here. We miss you so much Llŷr.

"You give me so much strength, even when times are tough and it would be easy to give up. Mum, Dad and Elliott are doing ok, they miss you so much too. I would do anything to go out for a spin in the car with you again. Love you x"
