Love Island’s Dr Alex George says he’s going through ‘hardest times imaginable' after death of brother

Love Island’s Dr Alex George has revealed he is experiencing “the hardest times [he] could ever have imagined” after the death of his younger brother Llyr.

George, 30, shared the tragic news on Friday on Instagram, explaining that he had “lost [his] beautiful little brother to mental health.”

In a new post shared on his Instagram story on Monday, George thanked friends and fans for their “incredible” support and vowed to “find strength” in these “darkest times.”

“These are the hardest times I could ever have imagined,” he wrote.

George shared an update on his Instagram story (Instagram @dralexgeorge)

“The kindness and love our family has received has been incredible and I am so grateful.

“In the darkest times we must pick ourselves up, find strength and be there for our family and friends. That is exactly what I will do.”

George previously explained that Llyr was due to begin studying at medical school next month.

He said he was “so proud” of his brother, who would have been “an incredible doctor” and was “the kindest and most caring soul.”

He added that his family is “devastated” and “hurting so bad” after his death.

George, an A&E doctor who has worked on the NHS frontline during the coronavirus crisis, appeared on Love Island in 2018.
