Dr. Alex George has shared his relief over finally receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.
The Love Island star, 30, has been working on the NHS frontline in A&E at the University Hospital Lewisham in South East London since the killer virus broke out in March last year.
Taking to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the former reality TV star said that he had endured a tough year, and was finally able to see some light at the end of the dark tunnel.
Alex looked cheerful as he gave the camera a thumbs up while sitting alongside a pharmacist who administered the vaccine in his workplace.
Alongside the snap, he penned: “I HAVE HAD THE VACCINE!!
“We have all been hoping for a vaccine ever since this virus appeared.
“Felt quite emotional having the jab, it has been a hard year!
“I am so glad there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
He went on: “Huge thanks to Chris, one of the hospital pharmacists, for giving me the injection and to everyone working so hard to roll this out.
“It was a quick jab then back to work for me!"
He joked: Full disclosure I was given a star sticker for having the vaccine and being a good boy."
Earlier this week, Alex warned fans to "brace themselves" as the virus rages on.
Alex admitted that the current situation in his hospital in Lewisham is "at least as bad as March" as coronavirus cases continue to rise.
"Guys things are pretty rough at the moment," he penned on Instagram.
"I would say at least as bad as March in the hospital. We need to brace ourselves over the next few months and make sure we are each doing our bit."
He added: "We will get through it but at the moment it’s time for us all to focus and do our best to control the spread.”
