Love Island's Davide snubs winter series as he brands Islanders 'not interesting'

Davide Sanclimenti has revealed he decided not to catch up on the Winter edition of Love Island following his romantic trip to the Maldives.

The Italian businessman who won the series in 2022 alongside his girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu may have become a household name thanks to his quick wit on the ITV2 dating show, but he has no interest in watching the current series.

Davide, 27, and Ekin-Su, 28, recently jetted overseas to enjoy their first Valentine's Day together since leaving the villa but he explained that he couldn't be persuaded to catch up on the ITV2 dating programme.

It comes after fans had complained there had been no spark compared to other seasons.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror following the launch of his second boohooMAN collection, he said: "No, I didn't watch a single episode.

"Because people were telling me it's not been interesting, so I said 'why should I start?'

"If I received opposite feedback like people watching, then maybe I would start to catch up with Ekin-Su but then we left for the Maldives and everything came out after."

He added: "Apparently most of them, a lot of them are younger so I can't even relate to them, so that's probably why."

Davide went on to explain that he hadn't watched Love Island until one month before he jetted out to Majorca to film and find his one true love.

"I feel like the fact that I was new, I didn't know a lot," he said, before adding: "It made me real, it made me genuine and made me someone that people could relate to."

Discussing his collection with boohooMAN, Davide said: "I feel like we learned from the last collection.

"You can see more of the Davide style, you can see many different outfits from the comfy hoodie to stay-at-home or everyday life.

"I feel even closer to the brand and I'm excited about it."

The star who shot the campaign for his collection in Manchester where he lived explained that he has "four or five" styles of items he wears in everyday life and wanted it to be a true representation of him.

But while most people would like to see A-list celebrities rocking their clothing, Davide insists that he's more than happy to just see his items on the everyday person.

Although he does have his eye on one person: "An Italian one, Mariano Di Vaio, I feel like sometimes I'm very similar to him, so I will say him."
