Love Island’s Davide shares reason he ‘refused’ huge ITV show – as Ekin-Su spin-off wraps

Love Island 2022 winner Davide Sanclimenti has spoken about why he ‘refused’ to appear on hit ITV show Dancing on Ice next year.

The 28-year-old Italian hunk has shared that he decided to turn down the hit show as he was ‘too busy’ to take part and follow in the footsteps of fellow Love Island alum Liberty Poole.

Davide explained: “They wanted me to do Dancing On Ice this year but I refused this time around.

“I have so much going on and I can’t commit to something every day and when I do something I want to do it properly.

“Right now I just can’t focus on something like that, for the moment anyway, but in the future maybe I will.”

Davide also hinted to The Sun that he could have other TV work coming up, including his show with girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, which will see the pair travelling to Italy and Turkey.

The Love Island favourite said: “If it’s something that interests me I’ll do more TV, but if it’s something that I don’t like then I won’t.”

The exciting new travel show will see the pair visit their native European countries together and meet one another’s families – and they’ve already wrapped filming, Davide confirmed.

Announcing the news on Channel 4 ’s Big Breakfast with AJ Odudu and Mo Gilligan, Davide declared: "Yes I can tell you this.

"We are going on a road trip to Italy and Turkey, for one week in Italy and one week in Turkey. We are going to be on ITV2 and it’s going to be like our own programme."

Ekin-Su said fans are going to see the couple up close - and tensions could well rise as she admitted she is already on his case.

"It’ll be all real fighting, he’ll be cooking for me, I’ll be cooking for him," she told the hosts. It’ll be two cultures, meeting families.

An ITV spokesperson confirmed the news but no further details have been unveiled.

The popular couple were crowned as the Love Island 2022 champions with a landslide victory and shared the £50,000 prize money as a result.

Following the finale of Love Island, ITV revealed they had been the clear winners of the public vote with 63.7%.

Gemma Owen and Luca Bish came in second place with 14.5%, Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope took third place with 11.8%, and Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page came fourth, scoring 10.1%.
