Love Island’s Davide blows his £25k show winnings on a very sweet gesture for his mum and Ekin-Su

Love Island winner Davide Sanclimenti has revealed what he is going to spend his £25k winnings on, and it has left fans swooning.

The Italian stallion, who won the ITV2 dating show alongside girlfriend Ekin-Su Culculoglu by a landslide vote, revealed he has a very special plan for his winnings. Talking to CapitalXTRA, Davide, 27, opened up about what he intends to do with his half of the prize money.

He said: “I’m going to buy a trip for my mum. We are thinking we will go to New York with me and Ekin and our mums.” Whereas previous winners of the show have spent their money on expensive clothes and house deposits, businessman Davide was praised for his family-orientated plan for the money.

The news was met with praise on social media and one person commented: “I did not expect Davide to be like that as a boyfriend but I’m so glad for Ekin, she deserves the best, he will take good care of her.” Meanwhile, another person said, following his Capital XTRA appearance: “That was the sweetest. The way he wants to spend quality time with their mums and Ekin.”

This comes after Turkish actress Ekin-Su has signed one of the biggest ever deals to come out of the show for a whopping £1million. Yesterday, news broke that Ekin-Su would become the face of fashion giant Oh Polly.

A source told The Sun: “After speaking with all of the major fashion brands Ekin-Su wanted to work with a brand that aligned to her own values of sustainability and therefore decided against signing to a fast fashion brand. She is the most in demand love island star EVER.”

Oh Polly was without a doubt one of the most popular brands worn by this year's Islanders. Over 100 items appeared on screen and Ekin-Su proved to be a huge fan as she wore 27 items, followed by Tasha who wore 13 items and Danica who wore 11.

Ekin-Su, 27, is set to become one of the most successful Islanders ever as experts were predicting her earnings could surpass Molly-Mae Hague's before she even left the villa. A source told the publication: “There’s a pretty well-trodden path for Love Island winners. Over the past seven series it’s the usual fast fashion, drugstore make-up and then, of course, teeth whitening and protein shakes.

“Only Molly-Mae has really and truly broken that mould but even she ended up finding a home at a High Street fashion brand, Pretty Little Thing, albeit on a £250,000 salary. Ekin’s appeal to brands appears to have gone way beyond all that. It’s not just clothing brands, but big, global corporate brands that want to work with her. She’s going to be a very, very busy girl.”
