Love Island's Coco Lodge has said that she wasn't forewarned about the trolling she had received during her time in the villa, before show bosses gave her phone back.

The 27-year-old Islander, who went into the villa as a bombshell for the Casa Amor week, turning Andrew's head away from Tasha for a few days which almost caused the couple to break up.

Appearing on Capital Breakfast on Tuesday, she told hosts Sian Welby and Roman Kemp that was prepared for the level of abuse she had received on social media before seeing it for herself once her phone had been returned.

Sian asked Coco: "You’ve been getting some awful, awful trolling, horrific comments on your Instagram, on Twitter, I mean what was it like coming out of the villa and suddenly seeing all that?"

Coco said: "I just didn’t expect it because I wasn’t prewarned, so when I got my phone back, it was literally on the way to the airport and I was reading all these comments about my appearance, and how I look and I was literally shocked.

'" know there was an article released of me at the airport and it was 'Coco Lodge fuming when she sees the trolls comments' and I just think, I was upset, I wasn’t fuming, it hurt, it is what it is."

"Cast are told they should consider all the potential implications of taking part in the show and work through this decision-making process in consultation with their family and those closest to them, to ensure they feel it is right for them.

Coco also claimed that the Islanders secretly use their phones to communicate with each other, especially when it comes to recoupling.

She admitted: "I’m just telling people what Tik Toks are out about them, with the boys I think they did it before the Casa Amor recoupling to tell each other who they’re picking, so it wasn’t so secret, so the boys knew who to have their back."

Roman asked the former Islander: 'Are they asking about their followers and stuff like that?'

Coco replied: 'Yeah everyone’s always asking about that, they’re all very interested in their Instagram’s [laughs].'
