Love Island's Chuggs spills on-set secrets - from paused chats to re-filmed moments

His stay on the show was short and sweet, but former Love Islandcontestant Chuggs Wallisspent enough time in the villa to learn how ITV2 producers work when it comes to capturing the drama.

Speaking to OK! online, the 23-year-old, real name Oliver, explained that producers often suggest to villa residents where they should pull each other for a "quick chat" - sometimes even pausing conversations between islanders to ensure they capture every second of drama.

While the bucket hat businessman said that no one is given a guide about what to say on camera, the former Islander did reveal a few on-set secrets.

"Love Island is very much a natural flow. They might make you redo something or stand somewhere for a camera angle," he revealed.

"Or they might just say, when you’re on a date for example - when I was on a date, they were like to Liam and Faye when I was talking, ‘Can you guys be quiet so we can hear them and then you guys can talk after.’"

Chuggs, who was booted off the show at the start of July, also admitted that producers will also suggest where is best to pull someone for a chat - explaining that the cameramen are hidden "just above the fire pit" and in a "little pool hut" by the villa's pool.

While the ITV2 star had entered the villa looking for love, his time on Love Island was brief - packing his bags and returning home just days after first appearing on viewer's screens with fellow newcomer Liam Reardon.

The 23-year-old was left single during a dramatic recoupling on Friday 2 July which saw Rachel Finniopt to save Geordie Brad McClellandover the Surrey businessman.

Speaking about his early exit from the reality TV show, Chuggs confessed he wasn't surprised to find himself in the bottom two and was also full of love for fellow islander Jake Cornish.

"He doesn’t give himself credit – he thinks he’s not smart, he’s smart, he’s got common sense, life knowledge. He was really supportive and so interested in the fact that I’ve started my own business," the 23-year-old told ITV2 cameras during his departing interview.

However, his opinion of the tattooed hunk, who is coupled up with Liberty Poole, appears to have changed over the last month.

Chuggs told OK! online that after watching his Casa Amor antics, he believes Jake is a game player and corrupted 21-year-old Liam during their break away from the villa for his own advantage.

"He was corrupting Liam in Casa Amor. I don’t know if he’s got it in him to think that far ahead, that he and Liberty are good and that those guys were a close second,” he explained.

“But I do feel like he could have been a bit of a better lad to him. He knows that he was with Liberty from the start so if he keeps that strong he’s got a good chance.”
