Love Island stars are now brother and sister after parents who met on set this year marry

Love Island stars George Tasker and Mollie Salmon are now step-siblings.

The duo - who entered the show during the Casa Amor episodes this year - probably never thought they would gain a sibling after signing up for the ITV2 programme.

For a short while, there were rumours about the stars, both 23, dating.

George had to jump on Instagram to explain the bizarre situation to his fans, revealing his mum and Mollie's dad embarked on a whirlwind romance and are now married.

He told followers: “So basically, absolute madness, my mum has married Mollie's dad.

“So now we are stepbrother and stepsister, which is mad.”

He added: “They met at the reunion about a month ago and since then got engaged and got married.”

Love Island only finished airing in August, with Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu being crowned winners.

And clearly, they weren't the only winners to come out of the show.

Mollie and George didn't find love during their time in the villa but made quite an impact.

Mollie was first seen flirting with Luca Bish and the two even joked about her last name being Salmon and him being a fishmonger.

She even smooched Davide and shared a bed with him.

George had claimed that he and Ekin-Su got close, which caused issues when the couples returned to the main villa.

Ekin-Su denied anything happening under the covers.

However, George didn't want to let the situation go and discussed the entire incident on Instagram Live.

George claimed: "Her hand was in a place it shouldn’t have been, my hand was in a place it shouldn’t have been.

"Not for that long, but the line was crossed, that’s all I’m saying. Look, we’re friends, but I didn’t realise that that’s what friends do, so you know?"

Davide even unfollowed him on social media after regaining access to his phone after the show.

Ekin-Su insisted nothing happened between the pair, telling Capital Breakfast last month: "It was hot in there, obviously we’re both attractive people and we’re in the same bed together. Nothing happened."
