Love Island is known for its drama but on Sunday it was Caroline Flack who brought the lion’s share of it after epically snubbing Francesca Allen.
The dumped islander was being interviewed by the host - but rather than giver her a hug afterwards, Caroline jumped up and walked away from her, leaving Francesca hanging.
The reason for this is apparently the pair have met before - and they didn’t exactly have the friendliest of encounters.
Francesca's pal claimed she called Caroline, 39, a "dirty paedo" to her face some years ago.
It is claimed to have referenced Caroline’s 2011 relationship with Harry Styles, who is 14 years her junior and was 17 at the time they dated.
The Essex girl is said to have made the comments about the presenter after a day out at Wireless festival following Caroline, then 31, splitting with the One Direction star.
In a tweet, her pal Paigey Banks wrote in 2012: "Highlight of the dayyy seeing Caroline Flack and calling herrr a dirtyy pedo withhhh @francesca_allen hahaha."
Francesca was dumped alongside Michael Griffiths on Sunday’s episode, losing out to Anna and Jordan and Chris and Harley, who were all in the bottom three couples.
This led to the awkward encounter between Francesca and Caroline, and fans of the show flocked to Twitter to air their thoughts.
One fan said: “Francesca and Caroline on Aftersun was funny to watch especially when Francesca stood up for what I’m guessing was a hug and then awkwardly sat back down when she didn’t get one- guessing Caroline didn’t forget the ‘pedo’ comment.”
A second said: “Francesca awkwardly playing it off after Caroline walked right past her when she thought she was gonna go in for a hug”
Another pointed out: "Anyone else clock when Francesca stood up to hug Caroline or shake her hand or whatever n Caroline just walked straight passed her and sat down on the other sofa that’s for calling her a dirty pedo."
But not everyone was on Caroline’s side - some viewers berated her for being “unprofessional”.
They posted: “Absolutely cannot stand Caroline Flack. Unprofessional and rude because apparently Francesca &/or her friends yelled something at you when they were kids. Get over yourself and be kind, Fran’s a different person now & we love her.”
A second said: “Seeing Caroline be so nasty to Francesca just makes me love Fran &dislike Caroline more. ITV seriously need to get a new presenter instead of this dead ting that is unprofessional & rude to someone for something their mate did when they were 16.”
