Love Island's Callum Macleod is dumped from the villa - and he reveals who he thinks will win the show

Aircraft engineer Callum Macleod became the first Islander to be dumped off the series on tonight's Love Island - and he's revealed who he thinks will win.

Callum, 28, from South Wales, was coupled up with Amber Gill when the show returned to our screens for a fifth series on Monday, but the pair didn't hit it off romantically.

In a plot twist, Amber chose Anton Danyluk, who thought at first that Anna Vakili was going to pick him in tonight's re-coupling episode.

Despite failing to find romance for himself, Callum is certain that he's already spotted this year's winning couple.

"Definitely Curtis and Amy, he said.

"They’re so well suited, it’s like they’ve been together for ages already.

"You could definitely see them working on the outside. I hope they do. They’re both really good people."

Callum says it's unfortunate he didn’t meet anyone that he connected with, but he says taking part in the ITV2 dating show is "a positive thing" in his life.

He said: "I don’t think I would do anything differently in person.

"I genuinely think I was true to myself. I didn’t fake anything. It’s just unfortunate that there was no one in there that I connected with."

Last year's series, which is hosted by Caroline Flack, was won by Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham who have since split.

On Love Island, which sends a new batch of singletons to Mallorca every summer, Islanders must couple up in order to secure their place in the villa, with those who stay single finding themselves at risk of being dumped from the island.
Callum appears on Love Island: Aftersun on Sunday 9th June at 10pm on ITV2.
