Love Island's Arabella Chi unveils grim behind-the-scenes details of ITV2 show

Former Love Island star Arabella Chi has revealed cameras are found in literally every room of the villa - meaning there isn’t even any privacy when it comes to going to the toilet.

The 28-year-old Londoner was a contestant on the hit ITV2 show last summer - surviving one week before she was dumped from the island.

Reflecting on her time on the show, the blonde beauty recalls quickly getting used to living life under 24 hour surveillance as cameras captured every waking (and sleeping) moment in the house.

And during a chat with the Daily Star, Arabella revealed that cameras are also filming in the bathrooms - saving no blushes whenever bowel movements are needed.

"There is literally nowhere without a camera in the villa,” she said.

"There are cameras watching you when you are on the toilet but they are cameras not for the public to see,” she confirmed.

"They are just cameras which are just to make sure you are ok,” she added.

Arabella also said that she and the other contestants were conscious of cameras rolling while contestants shared beds - and says everyone made sure they didn’t engage in any X Rated activity for fear of families watching.

While other reality shows such as Big Brother , Geordie Shore and Ex On The Beach (and also previous seasons of Love Island ) have caught contestants engaging in sex acts on cameras, Arabella claims she and her fellow contestants opted to keep things reasonably PG on the 2019 series.

“The thing is we are all adults we kind of know the rules. You have to respect that you are on a TV show which is watched by families,” she said.

The current 2020 Winter Love Island series has been relatively tame thus far - but viewers have been grossed out by some of the romantic moments shared so far.

Many took to social media last week as Sophie Piper, 21, and Connor Durman, 25, locked lips under the covers.

The tender moment sounded louder than thunder, however, thanks to the pair keeping their microphones on - with many fans gagging on Twitter that the smooch was “loud as hell”.

Love Island continues on Sunday night at 9pm.
