Love Island's Amy Hart spends thousands to freeze her eggs at the age of 28

Love Island star Amy Hart revealed she's spent thousands of pounds to successfully freeze her eggs.

The 28-year-old initially spent £5,000 on two rounds of egg-freezing, which ended up failing.

However, she spent £1,500 on one last shot and was over the moon to find out it was a success.

She opened up about it, saying to The Sun : “I have always wanted kids and can’t see myself ever not having them. That is why I wanted to freeze my eggs now, while they are still young and healthy.

“When my first two attempts failed, it sent me into a panic about whether to do IVF and have a baby immediately, because the freezing was not working.

“I felt uncertain about what was going to happen if I went for the third round and it didn’t work.”

The star has never had a boyfriend before and wanted to freeze her eggs before it was too late, after having fertility checks last year that threw up some concerning results.

Amy, who was coupled up with Curtis Pritchard on the ITV series explained how she wanted to have kids since she was young.

Most people in her family - including her mum, aunt and nan - all went through menopause in their early forties.

After eating healthy, exercising and being on hormone injections before the procedure, she finally got the good news about the procedure.

However, it wasn’t as ‘easy’ as the star thought it would be, as she went through many side effects like headaches and nausea.

Earlier this month, she revealed on Loose Women that her mum supported her through the process, telling her that her 'biological clock doesn't go on forever.'

She said: "My mum said one day, ‘I would never let you miss out on it, so I’d always support you if you had a baby on your own’.

"And then because it was framed so positively from my mum, it was fine because I’m going to do that anyway. If I meet someone, amazing, but if not, then I can have a baby.

"You can meet the love of your life at any time in your life. Unfortunately, your biological clock doesn’t go on forever."
