Amy Hart has revealed her support for social media content creators unionising as she writes about being stereotyped.
The Love Island 2019 star, 27, has previously been passionate about her work in food banks and also supporting the Labour Party,
Now writing for Vice, Amy revealed that she did not regret her decision to walk out of the villa in the 2019 series.
She also spoke about how she is told she is not a 'typical' Love Island contestant but thinks this is just a stereotype.
Amy pens: "In my series, you had a pharmacist, a scientist, a fireman. I went out for lunch the other day with Anneliese Dodds from the Labour Party. I’ve got a handwritten note from Keir Starmer. I've been asked to go on some political TV shows. I think that’s an Islander!"
The former air stewardess notes that in that profession she was stereotyped as "thick" too but it is actually very hard work.
The Love Islander, who memorably split from Curtis Pritchard prior to her walking out of the villa, also discussed her passion for unions supporting employees and how she had spoken at a TUC union rally.
In fact, Amy thinks influencers and content creators on social media need the protection of unions too.
She noted: "I do think there needs to be a creators' union, because a lot of us make a living off of social media. People are very snobby about influencing, but then in the next breath they're tagging where their outfits are from in the hopes of getting reposted on their accounts."
The piece in Vice comes as Amy announced on Thursday that she would be taking part in a pantomime at Christmas in a stage version of Jack and the Beanstalk.
She will play Princess Jill in the show at Kings Theatre in Portsmouth opposite Jack Edwards and The X Factor's Sean Smith.
Writing on her Instagram profile on Thursday, Amy penned: "So after winding you up, it’s not Matilda, Jamie or Six (yet [sticking out tongue and winking emoji]) but an absolute dream come true of doing Panto this Xmas!
"More than anything I can’t wait to meet loads of you who I’ve connected with online, finally in person!!
"27th Nov-2nd Jan at @kingstheatre come and join us for a magical show! The cast are so so excited!"
Amy's former Love Island co-star Anna Vakili commented on the post, penning: "Aww wow [applause emoji] congrats babe [three heart emojis]".
Meanwhile, Celebs Go Dating's Anna Williamson wrote on the post: "Totally coming to see you xxx".
Amy is a very outspoken fan of stage shows and musicals and on Thursday went to go see Blue star Duncan James perform in a Proud Cabaret show.
