Love Island's Amber Gill cheers on Scots girlfriend Jen Beattie as Arsenal star lifts trophy

Love Island's Amber Gill cheered on her girlfriend Jen Beattie from the sidelines as she played in the FA WSL Cup final yesterday.

Jen, from Glasgow, who plays for Arsenal women, was delighted as her team defeated Chelsea 3-1, meaning they took home the trophy.

Amber was in the crowd and watched on as the reds netted three goals and ultimately won the cup and following the victory, Jen joined her proud girlfriend in the stands as the couple celebrated the win together.

The former Love Island winner shared a snap of them both in a cosy embrace with a red and white heart emoji, and later on her stories Amber then posted a photo of herself wearing Jen's medal.

Jen also shared a series of snaps from the celebrations including a sweet picture of the couple on her Instagram grid, writing: "Conti Cup Champs Baby." And in the comments, Amber couldn't contain her pride, writing: "My Bennifer Jeattie."

The pair confirmed their romance last month on Valentine's Day, as they enjoyed a relaxing day at the spa and then to Nobu in London for dinner and shared parts of their romantic time on social media.

Jen posted a picture of Amber on her Instagram story as they sat down for a romantic meal and tagged her with a heart emoji.

Amber then shared the post, writing: "Bro who got you smiling like that".

The pair also both shared snaps of red roses on their stories alongside more smitten emojis.

The Love Island star then posted a series of snaps of herself in the jacuzzi in the spa and wrote: "Happy National take ur girlfriend to the spa day."

Last year, Jen, who plays her home country as well as Arsenal, was awarded an MBE and said being named on the list is her 'biggest achievement yet'.

Speaking to Glasgow Live at the time about her award, Jen said: "It probably is number one.

"I think what's special about an MBE is it literally is across everything. It recognises the football and the charity work I've done. For it to be about everything, not just what I do on the pitch but what I do off it is special.

"I believe as footballers we all have a voice and we're all role models, so it's just a really proud moment that it has all been recognised at the same time."

In 2020, the 31-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer, she had surgery to remove the lump and began radiotherapy. During the treatment she continued to turn out for club and country.

The defender has continued to share her story with the hope that it can help someone who is fighting their own battle with the disease. Her inspiring work was recognised in 2021 with the Helen Rollason Award.
