Love Island's Amber Davies lands another West End role in Bring it On musical

Love Island star Amber Davies has danced her way into another gig with a role in the musical version of Bring It On.

The 24-year-old will be playing newly crowned cheerleading squad captain, Campbell and will star alongside Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, 31.

She previously delighted fans when she starred in Dolly Parton’s West End 9 to 5 musical in 2019.

The Bring It On musical will run at Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall from December 8 2021 until January 22, 2022.

It will first be performed at the New Theatre in Peterborough.

It’s score will delight Hamilton fans as the creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Kitt have written the lyrics with Amanda Green.

Released in 2000, the original film starred fan-favourites Kirsten Dunst, Gabrielle Union and Eliza Dushku as competitive cheerleaders and became an instant classic.

Amber’s character Campbell moves to a neighbouring school called Jackson High where she forms an unlikely friendship.

Of course, it’s all flips and spins as Campbell tries to reach new cheerleading heights.

Amber rose to fame after winning Love Island in 2017 with then-partner Kem Cetinay.

Prior to appearing on Love Island, Amber worked as a dancer for Cirque de Soleil as well as X Factor.

In February, Amber revealed she was struggling at the beginning of the third national lockdown.

"I feel good atm... I had a mini-breakdown [at the] beginning of lockdown 3 so I had to recharge and focus," she shared on Instagram after a fan asked how she was doing.

Amber added: "But those moments are so normal, the pressure of the new year got to me so I just turned all my emotion into hunger and motivation and it actually helped me!"
