Love Island's Afia reveals why Gemma has not mentioned dad Michael Owen on the show

Dumped Love Islander Afia Tonkmor has spoken out about why the fact that Gemma’s dad is Michael Owen hasn’t been mentioned on air yet.

The 25-year-old was dropped from the villa earlier this month and since her exit has been answering questions from her Instagram followers.

One of the most asked questions was why there has been no mention of Gemma's famous father Michael on the show - even though her ex Jacques O'Neill making an explosive arrival earlier this month.

Jacques has spoken on numerous occasions about how close he was with her family during their eight-month romance - and still no mention.

During Afia's Q&A, a fan asked: "Do they know who Gemma's dad is?"

To which Afia replied over her stories: "If people do know - I did know before I went in because I watched her VT - but if people do know they don't care, nobody really cares."

In the video, Afia added: "I don't know who he is. I know he's a football guy. It was never, ever spoke about in my presence."

It comes as Love Island is reportedly set for the arrival of "ladies man" Billy Brown on the ITV2 show.

According to reports, Billy is set to be a new addition in the villa and it appears he is already familiar with Gemma as they both follow each other on Instagram, although it is not known if they are friends or have met before.

So far during her time on the show, Gemma was partnered with Liam Llewellyn, Davide Sanclimenti and she is now exploring a romance with Luca Bish.

While her ex Jacques made an explosive arrival into the villa earlier this month, where he is now partnered with Paige Thorne.

A source told Daily Mail: "Billy is a ladies man and he's definitely going to bring some fireworks into the villa.

"He knows what he wants and isn't shy about going after someone he fancies - whether they are in a couple or not."

ITV was contacted for comment.
