Love Island reveal reason hot tub is turned off - but viewers have Sherif theory

Love Island have revealed the real reason why the Hideaway hot tub is permanently turned off.

Confused viewers have been questioning why the bubbles are never on in the Jacuzzi while the Islanders enjoy a dip.

Curtis Pritchard and Tommy Fury both had dates in what is essentially just a big bath with Molly-Mae Hague when she first arrived.

Then Curtis asked Amy Hart to be his 'half-girlfriend' in the hot tub as they sat in the still water.

Narrator Iain Stirling finally explained why the Jacuzzi jets are switched off during Tuesday night's show.

He said: "In the hideaway, Amy is turned on, Curtis is turned on, the hot tub is turned off for health and safety reasons."

Show bosses don't want anyone being electrocuted through their microphone packs so have wisely decided to keep the hot tub turned off.

This was a problem for Curtis when some bubbles came floating up from his shorts - and he quickly tried to blame the material.

Lots of Love Island fans were not happy with the explanation and took to Twitter to voice their anger.

One viewer asked: "Am I just being thick? Hot tub turned off for HEALTH AND SAFETY. Are the bubbles poisonous, come complete with spikes? What!"

Bubbles off for health and safety? Wtf!! Get a grip lol," added another.

A third agreed: "The hot tub is turned off for health and safety. Basically meaning so nobody gets electrocuted with the bubbles lmao"

However, some viewers believe that the lack of bubbles in the hot tub may be linked to Sherif Lanre's exit.

Social media quickly ran with the idea that Sherif had somehow violated the sanctity of Jacuzzi after he confessed to breaking the villa rules in a "case of poor judgement".

There's no corroborating evidence to support the theory and Sherif never entered the hot tub, but it hasn't stopped some people making the suggestion on social media.

One conspiracy theorist tweeted: "The hot tub is turned off for health and safety reasons ay up? Sherif you got something you wanna tell us then

Another asked: "‘The hot tub is turned off for health and safety reasons’ hmm sherif just comes to mind"

Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2
