Love Island Reunion show cancelled following Caroline Flack's death

Love Island bosses have revealed that the popular reunion show will not not go ahead following the death of Caroline Flack.

The spin-off , which catches up with islanders following their time in the villa, is usually a staple follow-up to the main event, but will not be taking place for the first ever winter series.

In previous years, the reunion has been the closure dedicated fans needed after giving weeks of their time watching the the reality dating programme.

The event has always been the ideal set up for disagreements to be put to bed or fired back up, and for islanders to confront each other after watching unseen moments they weren't previously aware of.

It has also given couples a platform to talk for the first time about how their relationships have developed (or not) since leaving the villa and going back into the outside world.

Last year's show, hosted by Caroline Flack, saw several explosive moments including eventual winner Amber Gill, 21, coming face-to-face with ex Michael Griffiths, 27, and Joanna Chimonides, 22, who he dumped Amber for after he hooked up with Joanna in Casa Amor.

There were even more fireworks when tensions rose between Molly Mae Hague, 20, and Anton Danyluk, 24, who dropped a bombshell claiming he and the influencer had never been friends after unfollowing her on Instagram.

Last year's Love Island's Christmas Reunion also didn't go ahead after ITV bosses quietly axed a one-off special that had been planned.

TV chiefs will now focus on preparations for the upcoming summer series of the popular show which will once again take place in Majorca this June.

The death of TV presenter Caroline, 40, has had an extreme effect on past and present islanders, with many paying tribute to her in various ways.

Scottish contestant from the 2017 season, Laura Anderson, revealed yesterday that she got a 'Be Kind' tattoo in Caroline's memory.

Last year's winner Amber Gill said she will donate all the profits for the latest edit of her fashion line for Miss Pap to mental health charity Mind.

Amber has followed fellow 2019 islander Molly-Mae Hague's example, after the Pretty Little Thing ambassador announced she was going to donate all the profits to Mind.
