Love Island 'reject' Michael tells Geordie Amber that 'it won't work with Greg'

Love Island had a dramatic recoupling which saw Geordie Amber Gill make a tough decision.

Faced with the choice of forging a new relationship with Greg O'Shea, or returning to former partner Michael Griffiths, she chose to bin off the man that had given her "the most embarrassing moment of her life".

Viewers at home rejoiced when the Newcastle beautician left Michael standing and Joanna Chimonides, who was coupled with Michael when she was voted off, praised Amber for her "hardest decision."

With Francesca Allen left to pick up the pieces of a broken Michael, as they were forced together through lack of anyone else to couple with, it looked he was going to be licking his wounds for some time.

Instead, Michael decided to seize the moment and try and undermine Amber's fledgling relationship with Greg.

Taking his former partner to one side Michael told he that he didn't see a future for her with Greg, before putting his case as to why he is really her man.

Michael told Amber: "I am more out there person than he is...more feisty. fiery than he is. Whether you are personally built for the long run, I don't think so."

Amber accused him of 'making moves' on her just minutes after she had rejected her.

Michael denied this, saying: "I'm not making my moves, I am going to speak to you on a level and that we can be on a level."

His chat with Amber did not go down well with fans of the ITV2 show, with many saying that he was wrong to try and put a spanner in the works of her new coupling.

One annoyed viewer tweeted: "He’s like a dog peeing up a lamppost marking his territory. #loveisland"

Love Island airs all week at 9pm on ITV2.
