Love Island receives more than 90 Ofcom complains after Shannon Singh's exit

Love Island has been hit with more than 90 complaints within its first week on air with the majority of complaints regarding Shannon Singh's departure.

The broadcasting watchdog regulator confirmed the news stating it had received a total of 80 complains in relation to her departure alone, reports the Daily Star.

In addition to the other complaints, Ofcom received a further 11 complaints in regards to other segments.

This brings the total number to 91.

Fans of Shannon and Islanders were outraged by her sudden dumping which is one of the fastest in the reality dating shows' history.

The Scottish model from Fife was forced to pack her suitcase after being dumped less than 48 hours of stepping foot in the Majorca villa.

There was speculation she would return in Casa Amor however since leaving, she has appeared in several interviews meaning her return is unlikely.

Rumours as to why she was kicked out so soon also began to circulate with some claiming it was because she "didn't play ball", however a Love Island spokesperson said it was "simply not true."

The news comes as the villa was recently sealed off after a Youtuber found his way in.

The break-in caused a covid scare resulting in the contestants being forced to leave the villa as it underwent a deep clean.

You can catch up with Love Island tonight on ITV2.
