Yesterday's instalment of Love Island saw ratings slump by over 1.2 million viewers as fans tuned into the England vs Denmark football match instead.
While the ITV2 show was one of the most viewed episodes of the year when it first aired last Monday, it appears that yesterday some fans were more interested in the nail-biting Euros game.
Although television producers pushed Love Island back by an hour, this didn't make much of a difference as the football went into extra time.
It was reported that just 941,000 viewers tuned into the dating show on Wednesday while the football game ran over by half an hour.
According to the Mail Online, this was a stark difference to the 2.2 million viewers that had tuned into Love Island on Tuesday when the two new bombshells entered the villa.

Based on the statistics, it means that 1.2 million viewers opted to watch England storm into the Euros final instead of catching up on the dating show. However, it is also reported that the ratings do not factor in ITV Hub.
A representative for ITV and Love Island has been approached by The Mirror for comment.
In the meantime, almost 26 million people in total tuned in to watch the historic England vs Denmark game on Wednesday, which saw our national team storm into the final. This Sunday, England will face Italy in the much-anticipated Euros final.
However, football and Love Island fans did express their frustration that both shows partially clashed.
One wrote: "Gonna have to forget love island tonight , this football match is actually it !!!
"I can’t watch love island and football at once tf," added another.
One person penned: "keep switching between love island and football [crying emojis]".
Although yesterday's Love Island show had considerably lower ratings, that didn't stop the ITV2 dating show from unveiling plenty of drama.

During last night's episode, Aaron decided to call things off with Sharon as he told the reality star that he didn't like the way she had acted in the row with Hugo Hammond. He was also chosen to go for dinner with the two newcomers, Millie and Lucinda.
In an explosive teaser of tonight's episode, it was also revealed that Toby and Kaz might be heading for a split after the semi-professional footballer appears to declare his interest in fellow Islander Chloe.
Chloe tells the semi-pro footballer in the sneak peek: "I'm quite pleased with myself that you're interested."
