Antigoni Buxton reveals how Love Island producers slid into her DMs when they approached her for the show.
The bombshell, 26, said the way she got onto the programme was "really random" and that her family were stunned by her decision as she previously vowed against taking part.
Antigoni, who is the daughter of Tonia Buxton spoke to The Dr. Richard Podcast with Richard Marques.
She explained: "Honestly it was really random. I just got a DM on Instagram in like January saying 'Hey, I work at ITV, would you be interested in going on Love Island?'
"I swear I sent screenshots to my family group chat and we were all like never in a million years would I go on Love Island."
The musician continued: "Then I was like, 'do you know what, why not,' I've been single for just over a year at this point and it was like, it wouldn't be a bad thing to meet somebody."
Antigoni was booted out of the villa with Charlie Radnedge after just one week – but despite her short stay, she made a lasting impression.
Danica Taylor, who was dumped from the villa just days before the final, also revealed how she got onto the programme.
Despite the show having an official application process, Danica had help.
She ended up coupling up with footballer Jamie Allen after making her entrance on a pretend pink open clam shell.
Danica revealed was given a helping hand by an agency who encouraged her to get on the show as she posted on her Instagram page.
Sharing a selfie, Danica added alongside the photo: "So busy at the moment running around attending amazing events, photoshoots and appearances.
"Thank you to the team at Neon Management, they contacted me in January and arranged my application & interview with @loveisland and made the dream come true.
"I’m so excited for this new chapter in my life."
The applications for this year's show opened in 2021 in January and thousands of fans rushed to sign up.
MailOnline claims that 100,000 applied through the official process, but that only three were chosen.

A source told MailOnline: "There were almost 100,000 applications this year, which is about the same as most years, but the final cast doesn’t reflect that."
Some fans reacted with anger over the lack of people chosen from the application process, with one writing: "So there's nothing real about the reality tv show. What a shock."
Another added: "Programme filled with so called influencers, daughters of footballers, its time for change."
