Love Island presenter Maya Jama shares behind-the-scenes glimpse ahead of hosting debut

Maya Jama has given Love Island fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the show as she posed in new photos ahead of the new series launch tonight.

Maya, 28, took over as the ITV programme's host after Laura Whitmore shared her decision to quit in August.

And, as she prepared to make her on-screen Love Island debut, Maya posed for a series of sizzling selfies taken from her dressing room.

The snaps show former BBC Radio 1 host Maya wearing a knitted bright red two-piece skirt and bra top as she posed in the doorway of her dressing room.

She matched her outfit with a bright red lipstick and wore her dark brunette locks in a stunning wavey style.

Maya added gold accessories to the bright ensemble, which included a pair of hooped earrings and chunky rings and bracelets.

Next to the presenter is a sign which reads: "Host dressing room" below the dating show's logo.

A glimpse behind Maya shows a coffee table and a dressing area with a large Hollywood mirror with light bulbs all around it.

In a second snap, the presenter is posing in the same outfit – this time in front of the mirror, showing the makeup chair she sits in to get her glam on along with a clothes rail with empty hangers on.

Along with the sultry snaps, Maya also posted a video of herself posing in the ensemble, looking confident ahead of her Love Island debut.

As she posted the images and video on her Instagram page, Maya wrote in the caption: "it’s nearly time!!! 9pm @loveisland hope I do you all proud", alongside a grinning emoji, two cute face emojis and red heart emoji.

Later, on her Instagram story, Maya revealed she had been treated to a personalised menu to celebrate her Love Island debut.

Meanwhile, celebrity friends and fans were quick to share their support for the ITV programme's new host in the comments as Sam Faiers wrote: "Good luck!".

Former Love Island winner Amber Gill penned: "Oh my goddddd" alongside a flurry of heart eye emojis.

Love Island fans also shared words of encouragement to Maya as one said: "stunning maya you’re gonna absolutely smash it!"

"an actual goddess! Can’t wait to watch," another wrote alongside a red heart emoji.

While a third joked: "If I was one of the girls I’d be worried about my fellas head turning for Maya".

It comes after Maya reportedly felt "naturally nervous" ahead of her new hosting gig.

A source told new! magazine: "Maya knows she has big boots to fill taking over from Laura and the job comes with pressure, so she's naturally nervous.

"But she's a great host and really wants to make the role her own."

Previous host Laura Whitmore quit the role in August after three years after taking over from Caroline Flack, who stepped down two months before taking her own life in December 2019.
