Love Island power couple Sophie and Connor to be ripped apart in traumatic dumping

Love Island's Sophie Piper and Connor Durman will be ripped apart in a traumatic dumping.

The power couple, who were two of the favourites to win the series, looked devastated after discovering they would be torn apart.

Laura Whitmore arrived unannounced into the villa to reveal that Sophie and Connor had received the fewest votes from the public vote.

Shockwaves were sent through the villa when Laura then explained they were both vulnerable.

In a shock twist, their fellow Islanders will be forced to decide who stays and who goes, which will be shown on Monday night's show.

Less than 24 hours after Connagh Howard's shock dumping there was another nasty surprise for the Islanders.

Shockwaves were sent through the villa when presenter Laura made an unexpected arrival to deliver some devastating news.

Laura, who had perfected the slo mo walk, asked the worried Islanders to gather round the fire pit ahead of a dramatic bombshell.

As they wait anxiously, Laura explained: "Islanders, I guess you’re all wondering why I’m here… I’ve got some very important news for you all.

"The public have been voting for their favourite couple. The couple with the fewest votes risk being dumped."

Luke M and Luke T and the girls they are coupled up with, Jess and Rebecca, were safe and not involved in the public vote.

The presenter then explained that four couples were safe and would continue their Love Island journey.

Paige and Finn, Shaughna and Callum, Leanne and Mike, and Siannise and Nas, who were not even romantically linked, were saved by the public.

Laura then explained that remaining pair Sophie and Connor were now "both vulnerable" and therefore at risk of leaving.

The Love Island host added: "But only one of you will leave the villa. And that decision is down to your fellow Islanders."

The Islanders were stunned into silence as they put their heads in their hands and contemplated the massive decision ahead of them.

Who will they choose to send home?

Love Island viewers took to Twitter after watching the dramatic cliffhanger.

One fan said: "Cliff hanger or what!!........ My connor has GOT to stay!!"

"Nahhhh how can they leave me on a cliff hanger like that," added another.

A third said: "No more Connor and Sophie! I'm so pleased lol. Glad for Siannise as well she deserves her shot. Nas still needs to go though"

"LOOOOOOOOOL if Connor goes Sophie deffo ain’t following," said a fourth.

*Love Island airs tonight on ITV2 at 9pm
