Love Island Michael's family speak out after brutal dumping

Love Island viewers were stunned as Michael Griffiths was dumped from the villa.

The Liverpool firefighter and Francesca left the villa after a public vote put the three couples with the lowest votes in danger.

The three couples were Michael and Francesca, Chris and Harley and Anna and Jordan.

The saved islanders decided in their couples on who to save.

All of the couples voted for Anna and Jordan, bar Ovie and India who decided upon Chris and Harley.

Over the past two months, Michael has been a controversial figure. From coupling up with Amber to dumping her for Joanna - it's been a rollercoaster for Michael.

And following his departure his family and friends posted on Instagram: "So sad to see our boy leave!

"Thank you to everyone who has shown support and love for Michael throughout his long journey in the villa.

Michael admits his feelings for Amber

"He hasn't had the easiest ride and has made some mistakes along the way but we're all only human and we couldn't be more proud of him!"

Speaking to Love Island, Michael said: "It’s been the most amazing experience of my life. I’ve made tremendous friends who I would now consider family.

"The people in there have been the easiest people to get along with, and at the same time the toughest.

"They have helped me through certain situations when I’ve been at a low point and also been understanding of when I’ve made decisions that were right for me.

"I would never change any of the couplings I was in. Yewande helped me realise what a nice girl she was and we got on really well as time went on. I wouldn’t change anything with Amber and Joanna.

"I wanted to couple up with Joanna as the interest was there.

"No [I wouldn't go back], I had the perfect time in there. The time was right for me to go. I had the best time ever and have come out with no regrets."
