Love Island looks set for an early twist as eagle-eyed fans have noticed something doesn't quite add up with this year's line-up.
After teasing some big contestant news with a post on on their social media channels at the weekend, bosses delivered the goods on Monday with the reveal of the Love Island 2021 line-u p, which includes a semi professional footballer, a Nando's waitress and a civil servant involved with the rollout of Test and Trace.
The new series of Love Island starts on Monday, June 28 and, while very excited for what's to come, fans noticed something, or rather someone was missing from the line-up.
Love Island 2021 line-up confirmed in full
Shortly after all of the contestants were unveiled, Love Island posted a new trailer featuring them all, but while there were six girls, there were only five boys.
Now, as every Love Island viewer knows, the ITV2 dating show is no stranger to a bombshell or two and fans think one could be dropped from the get-go, with a male late arrival stirring things up in the villa.
Remembering series gone by, one took to Twitter to react: "Swear it only 5 girls and 5 boys to start?"
Newcastle's Adam Collard was the early bombshell that caused a stir in Love Island's fourth series in 2018, while in 2019, the last year Love Island was held in Majorca, Tommy Fury and Curtis Pritchard arrived together after the Islanders had already coupled up
The Love Island girls this year include Sharon Gaffka, who was confirmed in the press ahead of the line-up announcement and Nando's waitress Liberty Poole.
The boys for 2021 include Northumberland labourer Brad McClelland, footballer Toby Aromolaran and model Aaron Francis, who, like Sharon, had his name leaked as a contestant before the official reveal.
