Laura Whitmore has revealed that she and boyfriend Iain Sterling barely see each other despite both working on Love Island.
Whitmore hosts the ITV2 reality TV programme, which is currently filming in Cape Town, South Africa, while Sterling does the voiceover, yet the two don’t even sleep in the same hotel room.
“Iain and I only see each other briefly; we’re working to different times,” she told The Times.
“We don’t even stay in the same hotel room because sometimes I’m working until 4am and he’s finished at 9pm.”
Whitmore added that she gets her hair and makeup done in Sterling’s room while he plays computer games.
“His room’s full of Playstations,” she added before teasing: “I’m going out with a 12-year-old.”
The 34-year-old added that despite the couple not spending much time together, they are “very strong”.
Whitmore went on to explain how, prior to watching Love Island, she might have judged the women on the show or putting effort into their appearance.
“Before I’d ever watched Love Island I probably prejudged girls [like that], but getting to know the islanders you’re, like, ‘Oh, you’re a real person, you’ve got banter.
"It’s ok to care about how you look; you can still be smart.”
Whitmore went on to say that the men are under just as much pressure as the women.
"I’d never realised that height was such a thing for guys,” she said.
“Girls were saying, ‘I don’t fancy [contestant] Nas because he’s short.’ ”
