Love Island latest: Will Michael change his mind about Amber after the heart rate challenge?

Love Island’s infamous heart rate challenge looks set to shake things up in the villa as Michael Griffiths wonders whether he still has feelings for Amber Gill.

The firefighter moved on with new islander Joanna Chimonides while Amber was in Casa Amor last month and dumped her in a brutal recoupling ceremony, leaving her single.

Despite their dramatic break-up, Amber has admitted that she still has feelings for her ex.

Now, the results of last night’s dirty dancing challenge prompt Michael to wonder whether he and Amber have unfinished business, after she raised his heart rate the most.

Heart to heart: Michael opens up to Jordan (ITV)

“Amber was the girl I was interested in and now my heart rate has been raised most by her. It’s not ideal,” he admits to Jordan.

“I think she is very much still into you,” his friend replies, before reminding Michael that he and Anna got back together after she recoupled with Ovie Soko and are now stronger than ever.

“From what I’ve seen, you and Joanna don’t have as much chemistry as you and Amber did,” he said.

“If you did change your mind, there would be nothing wrong with that.”

Meanwhile, Amber admits that she feels vindicated at the results of the challenge, seeing them as proof that she is “not going mad.”

Will Michael listen to his heart rate and patch things up with his ex?

Decision: Who will Francesca pick? (ITV)

Tonight’s episode will see yet another recoupling, with one boy at risk of being dumped from the island.

New girl Francesca Allen has the chance to make the first decision and it seems that she is torn between Curtis Pritchard and Marvin Brooks.

How will Maura Higgins react when she learns she has competition?

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
