Love Island latest news: Mean tweets challenge is more savage than EVER as viewers claim Curtis and Amy have ‘no chemistry’

Shocked: Curtis and Amy looked less than impressed by the tweets (Picture: ITV2)

Love Island’s mean tweets challenge is back and looks set to cause havoc in the villa.

The excruciating game sees contestants - who have had no contact with the outside world for three weeks - read out tweets from fans to learn how the public perceive them.

Some words from the social media posts have been redacted so that the islanders can attempt to fill in the blanks - to often savage effect.

A teaser clip aired at the end of last night’s episode showed Anton Danyluk reading out a tweet targeting Anna Vakili’s romance with Jordan Hames.

Acting: Anna and Jordan are faced with some savage tweets (ITV2)

“I honestly feel like Anna is [blank] for Jordan… It just doesn’t seem natural,” he says as his fellow reality hopefuls shout out words that could fit into the sentence.

One islander yells “acting” while another suggests she is “settling,” with both responses suggesting that some of the contestants don’t see the relationship as genuine.

Golden couple Curtis Pritchard and Amy Hart then look aghast as an islander suggests that they have “no sexual chemistry” while another tense moment sees a contestant joking that single Anton has “no game.”

The challenge has featured in previous series of the hit ITV2 dating show and can be relied upon to create more drama among the contestants.

Last night’s episode saw divisions form in the villa following Yewande Biala’s departure, with Anna and Amber Gill calling out Danny Williams’ behaviour.

Danny’s decision to couple up with new girl Arabella Chi prompted Yewande to be dumped from the island, leaving the girls less than impressed when he proceeded to kiss his new love interest moments after the scientist left the show.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
