Love Island latest: Michael DITCHES Amber in dramatic recoupling that leaves her single

Michael Griffiths left his original partner Amber Gill single when he chose Joanna Chimonides in a shock Love Island recoupling.

The dramatic moment followed the show’s Casa Amor twist where the original girls left the villa to head off to a second luxury residence with six new boys. The original boys stayed behind to meet six new girls.

Michael began questioning the true extent of his feelings for Amber as he started spending time with Joanna.

Meanwhile, Amber stayed fiercely loyal to Michael, even opting to sleep outside instead of in a bed with one of the new boys during her time at Casa Amor.

The original contestants tonight had to choose whether to remain in their current couples or crack on with new islanders, with host Caroline Flack joining them in the villa to preside over the ceremony.

In another dramatic split, Anna Vakilli chose to couple up with new boy and basketball pro Ovie Soko, leaving her original partner, Jordan Hames, single.

Curtis Pritchard dispelled rumours he would choose to recouple after admitting “something might be missing” in his relationship with “half-girlfriend” Amy Hart.

Curtis had said he wanted to “get to know” newcomer Jourdan Riane while Amy was away at Casa Amor.

“Right at this second I’d choose you,” Curtis told the model before the recoupling, prompting her to ask: “Are you sure?”

But in a last minute decision decided to stay with air hostess Amy.

Jourdan instead coupled up with Danny Williams, days after his partner Arabella Chi was dumped from the villa.

Anton Danyluk, who has been unlucky in love during the season, finally coupled up with romantic interest Belle Hassan.

Surfer Lucie Donlan coupled up with George Rains after and Maura Higgins chose to couple up with new boy Marvin Brooks.

Boxer Tommy Fury and Instagram influencer Molly-Mae Hague both chose to recouple with each other.

Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2.
