Love Island in chaos as five couples are on the rocks as dumping looms

Heartache in the Love Island villa looks set to reach a new high as five couples look like they could be torn apart due to changes of hearts and mixed emotions.

Kaz Kamwi and Matt MacNabb, Tyler Cruickshank and Clarisse Juliette, Hugo Hammond and Amy Day, Dale Mehmet and Abigail Rawlings and Mary Bedford and Sam Jackson could all be on the rocks – and just hours before a crucial couples ceremony.

Any of the Islanders involved in the couplings could be at risk of getting dumped as the public have been voting for the couples they like the most.

Kaz and Matt and Tyler and Clarisse could be ripped apart after 26-year-old Kaz and 26-year-old Tyler acknowledged they still have feelings for each other their past coupling.

In scenes due to air tonight, the pair are seen on the terrace discussing whether there is a possible future for them.

Tyler asks Kaz: “What is the situation at the moment?” – with Kaz replying: “With me and Matt?”

Tyler exclaimes: “No, us! Do you feel as if the door is still open, or is that it?”

Slightly coy, Kaz says: “The door’s open a crack.”

Tyler then asks: “What is the only thing keeping it open for you then?” – with Kaz replying: “The little feelings I have. Tiny feelings I have.”

The confession could spell trouble for Matt and Clarisse as they could be left in the cold if Kaz and Tyler opt to pick up where they left off.

Meanwhile, 24-year-old Hugo and 25-year-old Amy admit to each other the spark may have gone between them.

Addressing Hugo on the sundeck, Amy says: “I definitely do feel like there is distance between us.”

Hugo suggests he has been iced out by Amy, saying: “What would me trying more look like? You haven’t pulled me.”

Amy says: “I feel like I’ve pulled you enough” – but Hugo argues: “I literally can’t think of a time.”

Elsewhere in the villa, drama looks unavoidable for 22-year-old Mary, 23-year-old Sam, 24-year-old Dale and 27-year-old Abi.

Confiding in Dale, Abi realises that her decision to couple with him has had ramifications for other Islanders – namely Mary, who Dale had grown close to, and Sam, who has been left coupled with love-sick Mary.

Speaking to Dale, Abigail admits: “I feel awful. I feel like I’ve torn a couple apart. I didn’t realise that you two were that close.”

Dale doesn’t beat around the bush and admits to Abi: “I’ll be straight up with you. Me and her [Mary] vibe good and I feel like we’re getting on really well. I do really like her.”

Frustrated, Abigail exclaims: “F**k sake. Why has no-one spoke to me?” – while Dale later steals a kiss from Mary on the terrace.

Wednesday night’s episode is set to see the results of the public vote revealed – with all the couples with the most votes ‘safe’ while the three couples with the lowest vote counts will be at risk of being dumped from the island for good.

Love Island continues on ITV2 and via the ITV Hub tonight at 9pm.
