Today the first Love Island contestants were revealed, with a glamour model, cricketer and Nando's waitress among this year's intake.

Laura took to Instagram to express her excitement for the upcoming show and also told her followers to remember to be kind.

She said: "I think we’re all ready for some love! Ahhhhhh! So excited to watch the new islanders.

"Hope you enjoy talking about them and following their journey and just a reminder to treat them with love, compassion and respect when they leave the show and go back to real life.

"Caroline I hope we do you proud.

"One week to go."

Laura took over hosting duties from her friend Caroline in January last year.

Sadly Caroline died during the 2020 winter series of Love Island, which proved particularly difficult for Laura and Iain who were her good friends.

After Caroline died, Laura paid tribute to her in a tearful radio segment on BBC Radio 5 Live in which she called out online bullies and described her friend as someone "vivacious, loving" who "had a passion for life".

Laura carried out her hosting duties on Love Island just days after Caroline's death with many fans praising her professionalism.

*Love Island starts at 9pm on Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox
