Love Island host Laura Whitmore promised the show will be "big" when it returns in 2021.
ITV bosses have been forced to axe the summer series due to the coronavirus outbreak, meaning fans will have to wait until next year for their villa fix.
However, host Laura, who was drafted in when late star Caroline Flack stepped down, has insisted fans will be in for a treat in 2021.
She's explained they've had more applications than for any other series so producers will be able to make sure the line-up is better than ever.
In a post on Twitter, she wrote: "Like with a lot of things because of restrictions with travel, social distancing and unable to plan ahead, Love Island is postponed until 2021.

"Great news is that there have been more applications then any other series! Next year is going to be BIG. Stay safe."
Fans flocked to her page to express their sadness over the cancellation, but one insisted a break will do the show some good - and Laura agreed.
The fan wrote: "Be a fresher series when returns good call."
Laura added a praying hands emoji to show her agreement.

Love Island's cancellation was announced today as TV execs insisted the show can't go ahead as the safety of contestants cannot be guaranteed amid the global Covid-19 pandemic.
Kevin Lygo, Director of Television at ITV, said: "We have tried every which way to make Love Island this summer but logistically it's just not possible to produce it in a way that safeguards the wellbeing of everyone involved and that for us is the priority.
"In normal circumstances we would be preparing very soon to travel out to the location in Mallorca to get the villa ready but clearly that’s now out of the question.
"We are very sorry for fans of the show but making it safely is our prime concern and Love Island will be back stronger than ever in 2021.
"In the meantime Love Island fans can still enjoy all six series of Love Island on BritBox."
