Love Island host Caroline Flack to put an end to rumours today as she prepares to speak out

Caroline Flack has said she will "speak" today, after her family has been affected by the media reports about her.

Caroline stepped down from Love Island hosting duties earlier this month after she was charged with assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton and appeared in Magistrates Court.

The 40-year-old has kept a relatively low profile since, only breaking her silence to wish new host Laura Whitmore good luck b efore the first Love Island show and to wish Love Island good luck at the NTA's.

But today she posted a short statement to her Instagram story, saying she was going to speak out.

Caroline said: "I'm going to speak today...mine and my families life is no longer up for entertainment or gossip."

Caroline is charged with assaulting former professional tennis player and model Burton, 27, by beating, at her flat in Islington, north London, on December 12.

Flack arrived at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on December 23 wearing a black coat, scarf and boots and was escorted into court by police, who pushed back a waiting pack of photographers and video camera operators.

Burton earlier arrived at court separately from his girlfriend, wearing a navy parka jacket with a fur-lined hood.

He has previously spoken out in support of the presenter, claiming she has become the subject of a "witch hunt" following her arrest.
