Love Island host Caroline Flack backs Joe Garratt and 'agrees he was unfairly edited'

Caroline Flack took to Instagram to throw her support behind Joe Garratt on Tuesday night after he was dumped from Love Island.

The sandwich delivery man, 22, left the villa to a flurry of accusations of "abusive" behaviour towards Lucie Donlan and even a condemnation from Women's Aid.

As he left, Joe's family took to social media to share a lengthy post about how he had been portrayed, claiming that he had been "unfairly" edited by show producers to fit "a certain narrative".

And tellingly, Caroline 'liked' the passionate post, despite its damning criticism of show bosses.

It read: “After that nailbiting vote, Joe has unfortunately left the Love Island villa.

“We want to thank all of Joe’s followers for their endless support. We also want to wish the remaining islanders the best of luck in the rest of the programme, especially @lucierosedonlan who Joe genuinely cares for and enjoyed his time with.

“Speaking on behalf of Joe’s best friends, we acknowledge Joe will come out to some warranted criticism. However, we deem the majority of it to be unfair and non representative of Joe’s true character.

“The producers have the ability to show someone in a particular light, choosing just 45 mins of footage from 24 hours to tell a certain narrative."

They added: “Joe will know he is coming home to the best family and group of friends about. We are all buzzing to see our boy. But from #thesandwichman.... that’s a wrap”.

Caroline wasn't the only one to 'like' the post and seemingly agree with its sentiment.

Former Love Island contestant Hannah Elizabeth, who dated Jon Clarke on the show, wrote: "So sad they have been split up its f**Kin sly ...wasnt his fault he is human !"

While another agreed: "Just shows how it gets edited and the help of memes on social media.
Looks like Lucie May escape anyway. Lets hope she claims her man".

Mirror Online has contacted Caroline's representative for comment.
