Love Island girls think Barcelona is in Italy and offend the whole of Scotland

Love Island has given more ammunition to its critics by airing an excruciatingly painful conversation between some of the girls.

Viewers admitted their brains were hurting after watching the ladies show off their geographical knowledge on tonight's Unseen Bits.

Belle Hassan revealed that she had cleared up with proud Scotsman Anton Danyluk that Edinburgh is "actually" in Scotland.

Things got much worse when Joanna Chimonides asked whether Italy is in Rome or if Rome is in Italy.

And the conversation spiralled out of control when Jourdan Riane confidently corrected Belle to claim that Barcelona is in Italy.

After revealing her Edinburgh discovery, Belle said: "Dublin is in Ireland. Did you know that?"

Stunned Joanna replied: "I didn’t know…oh my god...is Italy in Rome or Rome in Italy?"

Jourdan appeared to be the voice of reason as she confirmed Rome is the capital of Italy.

However, all her hard work was lost when she insisted that Barcelona is not in Spain.

Confused Belle asked: "Is Barcelona in Rome?"

Amazingly, Jourdan replied: "Barcelona is in Italy."

Later on, Belle made the poor decision to discuss geography again.

She asked Anton: "Is Scotland and England the same place? The same country?"

The Scottish gym owner was mortified and had a giggle with the lads.

No words needed (ITV)

Love Island viewers flocked to Twitter after watching the painful moment.

One viewer said: "How can she say Barcelona is in Italy with such confidence"

"‘Is Italy in Rome?’ ‘Did you know Edinburgh’s in Scotland?’ ‘I thought his mum would sound just like me’... well now I understand why we never see them having intellectual conversations," added another.

A third said: "My brain ached after this how can someone be so stupid like seriously??"

A fourth asked: "Most of these islanders are going to make my entire annual salary in a month or two  when leaving the villa and they don’t know Edinburgh is in Scotland and think Barcelona is in Italy? Where can I give my degrees back and become one of them, please?"

Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2
