Love Island gets first Irish link of the series as footballer Aaron Connolly's ex enters villa

Love Island will get its first Irish link of the current series when Lucinda Strafford enters the iconic villa on Tuesday evening.

Lucinda, from Brighton, will make her way into the villa in Tuesday night's show alongside Millie Court - and they both have their eyes on Liam, with a little Brad and Toby thrown in for good measure.

The two newbies will be testing the resolve of the couples, who all seem to be at pretty much breaking point already, and the villa looks primed for a big shake-up and rising tension.

Lucinda, a 21-year-old online fashion boutique owner, could be the blonde that Jake expressed an interest in finding but she also fancies a bit of Liam and Brad.

Though she's from England, she does have an Irish connection.

Up until this year, she had been in a relationship with Ireland soccer international Aaron Connolly.

The Republic of Ireland star, 21, dated stunning Lucinda for two years.

But a video emerged in March showing he breached Covid lockdown rules after it was claimed he romped with a woman at a house, reports The Mirror.

They split soon after and it has been suggested they are now talking again.

But when rumours started spreading about her entering Love Island, Aaron was said to have begged her not to do it.

He appears to have been unsuccessful.

Before heading in, Lucinda said: "Liberty's a similar age to me, so I think I'll probably get along with her, she seems funny.

"I like Kaz, she seems really bubbly. I can tell Faye can stand up for herself, but I quite like that about her."

Lucinda has said that she thinks she will be popular with all those already there and is keeping her options open.
