The remaining couples in Love Island get an entire 24 hours to themselves ahead of the live final, former Islander Chris Hughes has revealed.
The 2017 finalist exposed the secret after Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea pipped Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague to the £50,000 cash prize.
And while the Islanders have been filmed practically 24/7 by hundreds of cameras for the last two months, the final night and day is for them to enjoy by themselves.
Speaking as he watched the Love Island final for a video in association with McDonald's and UberEats, Chris explained that the villa cameras are turned off straight after the four final couples make their declarations of love at the Summer Ball.
They're not switched on again until 24 hours later when Caroline Flack and the audience descend upon the villa for the winners' announcement.
It makes sense, given that Curtis Pritchard made a comment about Sunday being the last morning they'd ever wake up together, even though the final airs on Monday evening.
It's likely that the finalists are moved out of the villa on Sunday night and taken to a second secret villa to be placed on lockdown.
There, they may well have separate rooms for each couple, so they can enjoy their last remaining hours in private before being greeted by a mob of fans at the airport when they fly home.
Chris also explained how the Islanders don't have every Saturday off, despite best friend Kem Cetinay's assertion that they all have a day a week off to head down to the beach for some camera- and microphone-free time.
It comes after dumped Islander Jourdan Riane exposed how secret fights aren't being aired - sparking speculation the producers are able to manipulate the storyline to show some stars in a more or less favourable light.
On one occasion, it was Ovie Soko who apparently rubbed the boys up the wrong way by defending bestie Amber when she returned from Casa Amor to find Michael had coupled with Joanna Chimonides.
"It just wasn't perceived in the best way by the rest of the boys, it didn't go down too well," she said.
"In recoupling [Amber] was stood there alone and he was just like: 'That's it, you're a boss, you've got this'.
"It could have turned into something bigger but thankfully it was a case of 'just leave it.'"
