Love Island fans planning to watch the show’s finale on the big screen will have to make alternative plans.
Showcase Cinemas UK was hoping to show the last episode of the ITV2 programme at its outlets but that is not going to happen now.
This means the planned showing at the Showcase Cinema de Lux at Redfield Way in Lenton has been cancelled, reports LeicestershireLive.
Showcase Cinemas UK published a statement to its website on Friday evening.
A spokesperson for the cinema said: "Update for #LoveIsland fans: As you know, we love to open our doors for free to catch those unmissable TV moments.
"However, for various reasons, we are now unable to screen this year's Love Island finale.
"Sorry to all those fans who’ve been in touch but we hope you enjoy the final."
Plenty of Love Island fans took to the Facebook post to express their disappointment at the event being cancelled.
One fan commented: "Pathetic. No Game of thrones now Love Island!? Shambles".
Another said: "How annoying!!!!"
While someone else added: "GUTTED... Was looking forward to it".
Other cinema-goers sounded relieved that the screening was no longer going ahead, however.
