Love Island fans urged to 'be kind' to Sharon Gaffka after 'fake' row with Hugo Hammond

A post on Love Island contestant Sharon Gaffka's Instagram account has pleaded with fans to 'be kind' after comments made in response to Wednesday's show.

Faye Winters and Sharon were offended after Hugo Hammond said that he didn't like 'fake' girls.

Sharon confronted Hugo and accused him of being fake in a heated exchange that ended in tears.

The people who are running Sharon's Instagram whilst she is in the villa posted the caption: "We’re so proud of our girl Sharon for standing up for the other girls in the villa (and for everyone who may have had cosmetic procedures) last night. Sharon reacted to a repeated attempt to cause a stir, showing her protective nature.

"It’s easy to forget that hours of interactions are edited into just 60 minutes of content - remember, BE KIND ALWAYS."

The post comes after a number of viewers took to social media in response to the islanders' debate about cosmetic procedures.

While some felt Hugo's comments were 'innocent' and the girls 'overreacted' in response, others felt Faye and Sharon were right to defend their aesthetic choices.

In Wednesday's show Aaron Francis, who Sharon is currently coupled up with, confronts her saying that he didn't like how she reacted to the situation.

He says: "Personally, I do prefer someone a lot more chilled. We get on really well, that’s pretty clear. But I do feel like there were a few red flags about. Can I see this working long-term? I’m not really sure. I didn’t want to continue it."

*Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm
