Love Island fans unsure about contestant who lives with his granny's admission

Love Island creators have finally revealed the full lineup for this summer’s show, and it didn’t take long for Twitter to call out one contestant in particular for his previous dating history.

Fans have been patiently waiting for the big reveal, and today on social media they were drip-fed the latest contestants heading to the villa looking for love.

Among the newest additions to the popular dating series was 26-year-old Brad McClelland, who has yet to win over fans of the show after a claim he made in his preview.

The labourer, from Northumberland, says he has been single for two years, lives with his Nana, and has never been on a date.

In usual Twitter form, people began to dissect and call out his claims with one writing: “If he’s been single for two years, how has he never been on a date? Is he two years old?”

Another wrote: “How’s he never been on a date if he’s been single for two years? No wonder his ex split with him if he never took her out.”

A third said: "You Sure he didn’t mean to apply for Xfactor with that sob story?"

When asked what made him want to take part in the new series of Love Island, Brad said: “I want to date face-to-face, I like meeting people.

“I’m easy going, laid back. Who wouldn’t want to be in a nice villa in a hot country for a while?”

Speaking about the jobs he has held before the show he added: “I try and make as much money as I can by doing as little as possible. [I’m] not lazy, as I’m energetic – I just try to get away with doing literally nothing.”

Finally, describing his type of woman, he revealed his celeb crushes include “Sommer Ray from Instagram. Zara McDermott, she’s a good-looking lass. Or Megan Fox.”

The highly anticipated new series of Love Island starts Monday, June 28, at 9 pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
