Love Island fans spot major clue that show will have US crossover episode

Love Island fans are convinced that the villas in the US show and the UK version will come together for a crossover episode.

The infamous villa in Majorca is being prepared for the latest batch of Islanders looking for love on the ITV2 show.

It has been reported that the first batch of contestants are already in Spain ahead of the launch date of June 28.

There could be a change in its usual fare as the UK version will be airing at the same time as the US version, prompting speculation among fans of the shows.

With coronavirus meaning that schedules for the shows have changed leading to them to coincide this time around and fans have taken to Reddit to suggest that contestants on both sides of the Atlantic could be brought together.

One fan wrote: "Both love islands (UK and US) will be airing at the same time for a while. Idk if I can keep up with 2 hours of love island a day."

A Reddit user then replied: "Oh this is interesting, I wonder if there’s any chance of a crossover.

" Big Brother has done that a few times. And I remember during 2018 there was speculation that uk4 and Aus1 were going to crossover in some way due to both airing at the same time."

The user added: "Due to travel restrictions I’m 100 per cent sure there won’t be any actual swapping of contestants, but I’m thinking more so like they’ll meet virtually for a task, something like that."

The love hopefuls for this year's show are quarantining in Spain ahead of their arrival in the villa and insiders have said that Love Island bosses are making their choices for this year's cast over the next few days.

A source told The Sun : "Bosses are finalising who goes into the villa on the launch show right now.

"The cast are already in Spain, quarantining ahead of the first episode.

"Everyone's really excited - it's going to be the best series yet as they have some really interesting islanders lined up for the villa."
