Love Island fans couldn’t believe Maura Higgins was “f****** raging” at Elma Pazar for wanting to get to know new arrival Tom Walker, having previously watched the Irish bombshell make a play for the coupled-up Tommy Fury.
But the grid girl got a taste of her own medicine as she ranted to Lucie Donlan about Elma admitting she wanted to get to know Tom, despite him just having had a date with single Maura.
“I’m p***** off. You know what f****** annoys me the most? She’s coupled up with Anton, she has the chance. I’m not coupled up with anyone, I haven’t had the chance to couple up with anyone. It’s p****** me off.
“I met Tom and yeah I do feel like me and him would be compatible. He’s good looking and chatty and now she’s going to get in the way. She's supposed to be my f****** friend! And now am I going to have to fight for him as well? Talk about destroying my confidence!”
Maura added that she “didn’t think Elma would do that” before saying “she wouldn’t do it to any other girls because she isn’t a f****** b****”.
She added in the Beach Hut: “I don’t even want to talk to her. I’m f****** raging!”
However, viewers couldn’t help but point out the “irony” of Maura’s situation having done the same thing to Molly-Mae last week.
One wrote: “Haha Maura fuming at Elma like she didn’t do the same thing to Molly Mae #Loveisland.”
Another said: “How much of a hypocrite is Maura. She’s angry at Elma for chatting to Tom yet did the exact same thing to Molly-Mae and couldn’t understand why Molly-Mae was so angry&upset.”
But others defended Maura, pointing out that her and Molly-Mae were never friends – having not even met – but she considered herself pals with Elma, who entered at the same time as her.
Elma is one of the four islanders in danger of leaving the villa, alongside one other contestants from Anton, Lucie or Joe Garratt.
