Love Island fans slam 'vile' death threats sent to Chloe and ask 'have we learnt nothing'

Despite only entering the villa on Tuesday, Chloe Burrows has already received a huge number of death threats.

Chloe's decision to couple up with fellow islander Aaron ended up sending Shannon home and some are blaming Chloe for Shannon getting the boot.

Posting on Chloe's Instagram story, her friends and family said: "We all have thick skin but the amount of trolling Chloe has been receiving is absolutely disgusting.

"This morning we woke up to yet another DM (see next story) encouraging Chloe to kill herself - there have been HUNDREDS."

They also added: "Have the deaths of Sophie, Mike, and Caroline taught us nothing?" referring to deaths of former contestants Sophie Gradon, Mike Thalassitis, and show host Caroline Flack.

However, most Love Island fans are condemning the threats being sent to Chloe's social media accounts.

One fan took to Twitter to say: "Everyone and their dog was sad about Shannon being dumped but that does NOT mean Chloe deserves death threats and the abuse her own family is having to deal with. Clearly the deaths of other love island stars have taught people nothing, vile #LoveIsland."

Another tweeted: "I have opinions about Love Island as much as the next person, but the fact that Chloe’s family is already getting death threats makes it really hard to keep defending reality TV…"

A third added: "I am no fan of Chloe but she doesn't deserve death threats, it's just a TV show set up for Entertainment did these people not learn anything from Caroline's death. #LoveIsland"
