Love Island fans slam Aaron's 'toxic masculinity' as he criticises Sharon's career

Love Island fans have slammed Aaron Francis for criticising partner Sharon Gaffka for being too "career-driven."

During Monday night's instalment of the dating show, the islanders sat down with their other halves for a romantic breakfast by the pool, with Aaron and Sharon talking about their future.

When talk turned to how many kids they wanted, Aaron revealed he wanted four as he hopes for a big family.

But Sharon wasn't sure if she wanted any children.

After their date, Aaron confided in the boys that he was feeling disconnected from Sharon, describing her as "career-driven" and recalling that she didn't want to be a "housewife" as her partner worked.

Viewers at home shared their frustration at Aaron outdated beliefs, with some saying he was showing his "fragile masculinity."

One person said: "Sharon saying she doesn’t want kids because she doesn’t want to do all of the house labour is so important I hope Aaron is listening."

Another wrote: "Aaron doesn’t wanna be a stay at home husband and that’s fine. What’s not fine is dragging Sharon because she doesn’t wanna do the same #LoveIsland."

A third added: "So what I’m hearing is Aaron is intimidated by Sharon’s success and career goals?"

"Aaron babes a woman can absolutely be career-driven while maintaining a stable healthy relationship your toxic masculinity is showing," said another viewer.

Things weren't going too well for the other islanders either as over on Kaz and Toby's table, Toby admitted he's unsure of his feelings towards her.

Jake told Liberty that if another girl comes in that was his type he'd want to get to know her, despite spending the previous night in the hideaway together.

And Brad told Rachel that she too should keep her options open.
