Love Island fans shocked to discover how much alcohol the contestants are allowed each night

Love Island fans were reeling after former Islander Amy Hart lifted the lid on behind-the-scenes secrets.

Amy, who was a contestant on the 2019 series of the ITV2 dating show, answered a selection of questions from viewers on her social media.

Viewers were stunned when Amy disclosed how many drinks Islanders are allowed each night.

"Two drinks a night," she revealed.

"First one is sometimes communal prosecco."

Fans aired their amazement, with one remarking: "Imagine how good Love Island would be if they were allowed to get steaming!"

"Two drinks is ABSURD," said another.

And another reasoned: "Probably because they know people will say something they will DEFFO regret later."

Amy also floored fans when she revealed just how long is spent filming the recoupling scenes.

On Friday night there was an epic recoupling when the boys returned from the infamous Casa Amor after deciding if they were going to stick with their girls in the main villa, or switch for a new bombshell.

"Two hours for normal ones about four hours for Casa return," Amy told her followers.

"Two hours!! No wonder people usually look so bored when capturing the reactions," exclaimed one follower.

"Two hours for recouplings?!?!?!" puzzled another.

"How an earth does recouping take that long! That's madness," asked another fan.

Amy was also asked if contestants are told to make a catchphrase.

"Nope, they just happen but people try and make them sometimes," she explained.

"I refuse to believe that they haven’t been told to try and make “moving mad” a thing to sell merch!" responded another viewer.

Amy was coupled with dancer Curtis Pritchard in the TV villa

While things appeared to go well at first, things turned sour when newcomer Jourdan Riane turned his head.

Amy was planning to tell Curtis she had fallen in love with him after being reunited for the first time since Casa Amor, but moments later had her heart broken when he revealed he felt their relationship wasn't perfect.

Curtis later coupled up with Maura Higgins in the villa.
