Love Island fans react as voice over Iain Stirling takes a swipe at Swansea

Love Island voice over Iain Stirling, known for his tongue-in-cheek comments, has taken the mickey out of Swansea - and locals were quick to react.

During Monday night's episode of the ITV2 reality series he compared a night in Swansea to spending a night in a skip, naked and covered in vomit before saying he would never stay in Swansea.

He said: "The Islanders are wondering where is the worst place you've ever woken up? I would say in a skip, naked, covered in vomit at four in the morning - or Swansea. I'm only joking, I'd never stay the night in Swansea."

Viewers have taken to Twitter with a mixture of reactions to Iain's cheeky comment. Some are saying that he now doesn't deserve the chance to experience the fun of Swansea with one saying: "Iain Stirling would be lucky to have a night in Swansea, just saying #loveisland"

Another said: "Love Island commentator saying he wouldn't spend the night in Swansea @IainDoesJokes you wouldn't survive the night in Swansea, ya plonka"

Others are inviting him to try, so he can see what he is missing.

One person said: "Mr @IainDoesJokes absolute cheekiness about Swansea...you need to come to Mumbles lad." followed by a wink face.

Someone else added: "Ow @IainDoesJokes if you haven't been for a night out on Wind Street in Swansea then you're yet to truly live."

And some are just shocked he could insult the city, with one person saying: "@IainDoesJokes that's cheeky Iain #Swansea"

Another said: "There is no way Iain Stirling just dissed Swansea on Love Island" followed by a crying face.

Love Island continues in ITV2 tonight at 9pm.
