Love Island fans praise Adam Collard for 'saving' this year's dramatic series

Adam Collard has cemented his status as a Love Island legend, with fans praising the personal trainer for taking this year's series to the next level.

Viewers of the ITV2 show have branded the comeback star a "living legend" and credited him adding even more drama to the Villa following his arrival earlier this week.

The praise comes following Jacques O'Neill 's departure being announced earlier today, just hours after Adam made a sensational comeback and set his sights on Paige Thorne.

The rugby player - Gemma Owen 's ex from the outside world - will explain his reasons for quitting the ITV2 series on tonight's [Tuesday] show to his fellow islanders, but many have already suspected Adam may have had something to do with Jacques' exit.

"Noooo Adam Collard really did intimidate Jacques out the door. Legend status tbh #LoveIsland," one fan quipped on Twitter, with another agreeing as they wrote: "Adam isn’t even a love island legend he’s like love island mythology #LoveIsland."

"i have to tell my grandchildren about adam collard," another joked as the news of Jacques' departure broke on Tuesday afternoon.

"Jacques couldn't handle Adam for more than 24 hours. King Collard needs to be studied this is incredible," one of the many other fan reactions on Twitter reads.

Over on reddit, forum users were also in agreement that Adam's return - four years on from first appearing on the show - has been a roaring success.

"It took 20 minutes of Adam Collard to send him packing? That's some goat s**t," one viewer praised the star.

"ADAM REALLY SAVED THE SEASON. GOAT GOAT GOAT," another excitedly wrote, with a third adding: "Adam Collard could win the 50k. What a wild season if that's a possibility."

Adam's drama-filled return to Love Island comes four years on from the first time he appeared on the ITV2 show, where he coupled up with four girls during his original stint in the Villa.

After arriving as a bombshell during series four, lothario Adam enjoyed unions with Rosie Williams, Zara McDermott, Darylle Sargeant and Kendall Rae-Knight before eventually being voted off the show by his fellow islanders.

The legendary contestant's comeback has undoubtable given this year's series a boost, but things were already going pretty well before Adam walked back into the Villa on Monday's show.
