Love Island fans mock Danny Williams' recoupling speech as he references 'intelligence'

Love Island fans were left dumbfounded when Danny Williams decided to use the word “intelligent” during his recoupling speech as he picked Arabella Chi over Yewande Biala.

Williams chose to couple up with the new girl instead of remaining loyal to his couple with Yewande, who was sent home after his decision.

“I think she’s very intelligent. I think we’ve connected on an intellectual level,” Danny said. “I think she’s absolutely stunning. I think she brings something to the villa that nobody else does.

“That hasn’t been an easy decision in the slightest, but the overriding feeling is excitement. I’m confident I made the right decision,” he added before picking Arabella.

Fans were immediately outraged their “favourite” had gone home, but were even more annoyed with Danny for savagely slating scientist Yewande’s “intelligence”.

One wrote: “Danny really called Arabella “intelligent” when a damn beautiful gem-like scientist was literally in front of him #LoveIsland.”

Another raged: “DANNY STARTING OFF SAYING SHES INTELLIGENT AND THEY CONNECTED ON AN INTELLECTUAL WHEN ALL HES TALKED ABOUT WITH ARABELLA IS YEWANDE. Absolute gobs**** #loveisland.”

“When Danny said this girl is intelligent and they have intelligent conversations but then picks Arabella... mate did you change your mind halfway through the speech #loveisland,” commented somebody else.

Yewande and Danny’s potential romance had been threatened by the arrival of model Arabella, who made an impression on him during their first date.

But Yewande hinted that she didn’t see a future in Danny’s new couple as she claimed “only two couples are genuine” as she left the villa on Monday evening.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
